The Mayor of Wellington, Ms Kerry Prendergast, wants a street parade to welcome home the New Zealand national team following their World Cup duties.
The All Whites have so far taken points from Slovakia and reigning world champions Italy and are still in with a chance to progress to the Round of 16 if they can get a win against Paraguay, but either way, Prendergast believes a ticker-tape parade would be a great way to pay tribute to the All Whits who have done the country so proud already.
"We would certainly look to give the All Whites a street parade," Ms Prendergast said. "To be 78th ranked and to draw with the cup defenders [Italy] is brilliant."
