Danny Welbeck scored his first goal for Watford in Tuesday's Carabao Cup third-round win over Swansea City.
It was a much needed victory for the Hornets after they were thrashed 8-0 by Manchester City last Saturday.
Summer signing Welbeck opened the scoring with a header before Bournemouth loanee Sam Surridge equalised for the Swans.
But Roberto Pereyra connected on a Gerard Deulofeu cross to restore Watford's lead and ultimately win the game.
Speaking after the game, manager Quique Sanchez Flores said: "The important thing was to win after the weekend. It was a bad experience for all of us.
"I told the players we don't have reasons to be sad. We have reasons to react. We need to show everyone we can do much better.
"We felt the support from the fans so I say 'thank you' to them.
"It's in the past and now we have another important game against Wolves in a few days."
