Welbeck in contention for Watford return

Watford are encouraged by the news that Danny Welbeck is back in contention for a first team position.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal man is recovering from a hamstring problem that he suffered in October.

With the Hornets light up front, they will be happy to call on the services of Welbeck as soon as he is 100 percent fit.

"Danny is a really good player and a big character in our dressing room," said manager Nigel Pearson to reporters.

"His return gives us another option. His track record is excellent and he has had a great career. He is the type of player that really wants to be back in the fray.

"I am delighted that he has overcome the problem he has had. I know he has had a few injury issues but he works exceptionally hard and it is great to have him available."
