Welbeck: Brighton in Europe would be unbelievable

Brighton striker Danny Welbeck says the players feel they can qualify for Europe this season.

Facing Nottingham Forest tonight, Brighton sit in eighth place on the table.

Welbeck said, “Playing in Europe would be an unbelievable experience for the club and the city. We know we've still got a lot of work to do to get there but it's important to set the goals high and strive to as hard as possible to achieve the goals.

“Come the end of the season we'll see how it pans out, but everyone is hungry in that dressing room and we're looking forward to the last couple of months of the season."

He added: “We finished ninth which was a record for the club, but we also knew there was room to improve.

“There was a period where we lost six games in a row and as a squad we know that shouldn't have happened so that was something we wanted to put right and throughout the whole season we've been very solid.

"We want to keep pushing ourselves and getting better each single day, not just in games but at training. Every single day there is always a will to improve as a group."
