Welbeck accepts dropping into Man Utd reserves

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck accepted missing this week's victory over Fulham.

Welbeck struck twice in the reserve-team's 5-4 win over Wigan and he told MUTV: "It's just good to get 90 minutes under my belt.

"I'm just ready to play whenever I'm called upon and it's always good to get goals, whoever it's for."

Welbeck has caught the eye with his fine displays and spectacular goals for the first team this season - including a stunning finish against Derby County last weekend - and he admits that the improvement in his game has been inevitable after joining first team training.

"Playing with great players every single day, you're bound to improve and I think I have," he said. "I played pretty well tonight, and also it was also great to play with the lads again."
