Rangers are set to hand Davie Weir a new one-year contract.
Ibrox boss Walter Smith will seek contract talks with his veteran skipper on his return from the NARSAR convention in Las Vegas.
And it's understood the ex-Scotland ace, 40 last month, will agree terms on a new one-year deal.
Weir would have called time on his playing career had Smith quit.
But after watching his mentor commit for 12 more months, Weir is now willing to follow.
