Webber confident he'll get goals for Portsmouth

Danny Webber is confident he can prove himself Premiership class at Portsmouth.

The former Sheffield United striker made a brief debut in defeat to Bolton Wanderers and Webber told The News: "I believe I can perform in the Premier League and will be working hard every single day to make sure I prove it to everybody else.

"No matter who you are, you always have people backing you or doubting you. At the end of the day you just have to have belief in yourself as well as belief in the people around you and what you are trying to achieve.

"I want to prove it to myself more than anything. If I can prove it to myself then I will prove other people wrong along the way. That is not something you can do sitting around.

"No matter what industry you are in, there are always people who have their doubts about you.

"Basically you have to do the best for yourself knowing that every day you come home off the training ground having worked hard and done the most you can. That's all you can ask for."
