Stuart Watkiss is delighted with his move to Hull City.
Watkiss has been named new the Tigers' new Development Coach and told the club's website: "I've heard a lot of good things about the young lads at the club. I've known Billy Russell (City's Head of Youth) for a long time and with the lads having come through under his coaching and that of Neil Mann, I know they have been brought up the right way. I'm looking forward to working with them.
"The move from youth team to first team squad is a critical time in a player's development. They are coming out of the youth system and in a way, they have a lot of security in there because they are looked after. The drop-out rate at that age is really high across the board.
"We want to give the lads the maximum opportunity to kick-on (after progressing from the youth team) and from a purely selfish point of view, we're very eager to see them kick-on. Ideally, we want to see them getting into the first team."
