Watford signing Etienne Capoue is keen to prove Tottenham wrong as he looks forward to his stint with the Hornets.
Capoue, 26, joined the promoted team in a £6million deal from Spurs after he failed to cement his spot in Mauricio Pochettino's squad at White Hart Lane, and is now determined to make a name for himself at Vicarage Road to help silence the doubters.
"At Tottenham, it was a difficult situation because in two years we changed the manager three times, and I wasn't in the plans for two coaches," said Capoue.
"Maybe I was not enough of a good player for them, so I will show them it was the wrong choice for them to let me go.
"It was a very easy decision for me to join Watford. I spoke with Gomes because I knew him at Tottenham and he told me a lot of good things about the club.
"There is a very good ambience, it's very much a family club, and I like it.
"It's very good to go on the trip to Germany, it's good for the relationships between players, we need to stay together because the Premier League is very strong."
