Watford are aiming to register 21-year-old Pape Gueye as their player on July 1.
The Premier League club thought they had completed the signing of the midfielder from Le Havre on a free transfer.
However, Gueye has now said that he was advised badly and does not want to honour what he signed.
Angers and other clubs are interested, but if Watford wish to register the player it could turn into a legal battle, says the Daily Mail.
Gueye is a defensive midfielder and the latest star to come out of Le Havre, following Paul Pogba, Benjamin Mendy and Riyad Mahrez.
