Watford part ways with Pearson before Premier League finale

Watford have sacked manager Nigel Pearson before the end of the Premier League season.

The Hornets were beaten 3-1 by West Ham United on Friday and remain three points above the drop zone with two games remaining.

The statement said: "Watford FC confirms that Nigel Pearson has left the club with immediate effect.

"Hayden Mullins, with Graham Stack as his assistant, will take up the position of interim head coach for the Hornets' final two Premier League fixtures of the 2019/20 season."

Pearson took over at Vicarage Road in December 2019 with the club bottom of the table with eight points from 15 games.
