Watford News: Silva warned off Everton defection; Scott confirms recruitment job

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has warned Marco Silva against leaving Watford for Everton.

Everton are believed to have had an approach to speak to Silva rejected by the Hornets yesterday.

“I think he's gone into Watford and he is doing a decent job there," Jordan told talkSPORT. “It's tempting for him.

“If he's got any proper advisors around him and thinking of his own, he will know that managerial careers are built around upon a degree of integrity and reliability.

“Dropping out of the Watford job at such an early tenure when the first big job comes along will not do him any favours in the long run."

Meanwhile, Andy Scott has been named new recruitment director at Watford.

Scott has left Brentford to take charge at Vicarage Road.

He told Brentford's official website: "I saw (chairman) Cliff (Crown) and (owner) Matthew (Benham) before I left and I said that it was important to me that my relationship with the club and the fans remained as good as it has been.

"I wanted to leave in the correct manner. I hope I will be welcome at Jersey Road, Griffin Park and the new stadium.

"I also hope there is an opportunity for Watford and Brentford to have a good working relationship in the future."
