Almen Abdi is on the verge of departing Watford to join Sheffield Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, the Swiss midfielder has passed medical with the Owls and will now complete a £4million move to Hillsborough after the two clubs agreed the aforementioned fee.

29-year-old Abdi initially arrived at Vicarage Road on loan from Udinese in 2012 before penning a permanent deal in the summer of 2013. During his time with the Hornets, the former Zurich star made 131 appearances in all competitions for the Hertfordshire outfit.
