Watford keeper Foster: Chelsea success good for England

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster says the success of Chelsea's young team is good for England.

The Hornets lost 2-1 on Saturday at home to the Blues, with Foster being denied in injury time by a wonder save from Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He said later, "If I score at the end that's me retiring. Fair play to Kepa - that was some save.

"Chelsea are a very good team with a lot of good energetic players, it is good for them and for England. But we can hold our head up high for hanging on until the end. We could have nicked something."

Foster also said: "Just to get the draw would have been a fair result I think. We are a little disappointed. We are so better than that. They were a very good team. They are full of young energetic players.

"Our manager told us before the game that they are like kids in the playground and if you leave the gates open you will let them run free. I feel like we did that at times which is disappointing. We have been unlucky - we know a win is just round the corner."

On nearly scoring, he concluded: "That's the closest I have ever come to scoring. I can't believe he saved it but that's why they spend so much money on a goalkeeper like Kepa."
