Watford are eager to lure Daryl Janmaat from Newcastle United, according to reports.

It is believed that the Hornets are keen on the Dutch full-back but have been told by the Magpies that he would cost £10million.

Janmaat joined Newcastle from Feyenoord in the summer of 2014 but is ready to move on following the north east club's relegation from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old was one of the few shining lights in the Toon's disastrous top flight campaign last term which has prompted Newcastle to set a price which Watford are currently baulking at.

Walter Mazzarri is hoping to sign a quality wing-back and Janmaat fits the bill, provided the Hertfordshire club can come to an agreement over a suitable fee.
