Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is happy hearing an approved work permit for forward Joao Pedro.

Watford received confirmation that the Fluminense teenager's work permit had been approved.

Speaking on the club's Extra Time series on YouTube after the defeat to Everton, he said: “This is great news for us. He's a talented player, he's so fast and he can score goals as well.

“I'm looking forward to welcoming him here in January. I believe he's going to do great things for us because he's the type of player that is a little more aggressive, that we need sometimes.

“He's the type of player that can score goals and when we need to keep the ball he will do it for sure."
