Watford goalkeeper Foster: Relentless Man City hard to handle

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster admits he was impressed by Premier League leaders Manchester City yesterday.

Watford fell to a 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road in the Premier League, with Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez netting before Abdoulaye Doucoure scored late on for the hosts.

Foster made a string of brilliant saves to deny City from running away with victory and declared afterwards: "We would have taken a point. It was close, fair play to the lads after going 2-0 down early in the second half against City - who are world class aren't they - they just sort of seem to do it with ease. They are a brilliant team.

"It is Man City, you know you've got to be on your toes. If you are going to get anything against City you've got to hope your goalie has a good game and I knew I was going to have a few saves to make and it turned out to be that way."

Foster added: "If we had put that chance away in the first half it might have been a different game but like I say fair play to City. They are relentless, they just keep going. It's just high intensity all the time, it's nice to watch but not to play against."
