Watford defender Marvin Zeegelaar is open to returning to his former club Ajax.

It was at the Dutch giants that Zeegelaar first tasted life as a professional footballer.

After joining the Hornets last summer, Zeegelaar did not manage to fully establish himself at the club as he went on to make just 13 appearances and never managed to usurp Jose Holebas in the club's pecking order.

Whilst speaking to journalist Alessandro Schiavone, Zeegelaar admitted that he still loves Ajax and refused to rule out the possibility of one day moving back to the club.

He said: "Yes' why not? It is the club from my hometown, I know the club and of course I love the club."
