Watford could be about to make a surprise move for former Manchester City and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Hornets hope that the Togo international can prove his fitness and allow them to offer him a short-term deal. Adebayor was released by Tottenham at the end of last season and has been without a club after a deal with West Ham fell through.
However, Watford could face competition from Bournemouth, Sunderland, Chelsea and Turkish giant Galatasaray whose director of football Cenk Ergun confirmed the possibility of his move to Istanbul.
Ergun said: "He has been offered to us and we are thinking about it."
