Watford sports chief Eric Roy has questioned Olympique Marseille hiring intermediary Paul Aldridge to help them sell players to the English market.
Roy can understand the reasoning, but believes it is unnecessary.
He explained to Le Phoceen: "I don't think the Premier League is a special market, even if there is more money than elsewhere. After, we can say that there are two markets: that of English players, or foreigners already installed in the championship which are very expensive, and then there are those who come from abroad who are a little less.
"The English consider that their championship is specific and they want to know if the player is able to adapt to it. But, if tomorrow I propose a French player to the Watford board, I don't see the point of going through a transfer facilitator.
"Afterwards, OM certainly have identified the need to feel compelled to call on someone."
