Watford challenge Arsenal for Hibernian whizkid Doig

Watford are holding talks with Hibernian with the intention of signing Josh Doig.

The Watford Observer reports that the Hornets are discussing a deal for the 18-year-old in the ballpark of £4 million.

The Scottish Under-18 international is primarily a left back, which is an area where Watford are extremely thin.

Doig, who has also been linked with Arsenal, would provide competition for Adam Masina in the squad.

The youngster played 34 times for Hibs last term, scoring one goal.
