Watford boss Silva pleased with Bristol City win

Watford proved too strong for Bristol City in their FA Cup clash on Saturday.

Bristol City placed the FA Cup down their list of priorities as they chase promotion from the Championship and prepare for a Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Manchester City.

The Robins made seven changes against Watford and were punished by a 3-0 defeat at Vicarage Road, Andre Carrillo, Troy Deeney and Etienne Capoue scoring the goals.

"Of course, it is important for belief when we win. Today, first, we respect the FA Cup competition, ourselves and our fans," said Watford boss Marco Silva.

"We are serious, that is important. I told the players that before the match, and do everything we could this afternoon to qualify for the next round.

"Bristol City have been doing very well in the Championship and League Cup. Today, everything was different for us, respecting ourselves and our goal was to play the next round.

"It is clear we deserved this win."
