Watford boss Pearson: Liverpool tragedy if season abandoned

Watford boss Nigel Pearson hopes the season can be completed for Liverpool's sake.

Pearson hopes the season can be played out in the summer months, with the league suspended due to coronavirus concerns.

"The longer it goes, the harder it will be to complete the season. Of course, we have to remember to put things into perspective, but for Liverpool it will be such a tragedy if not season is played to end.

"It may be that we can resume the games in April and then continue into the summer months. The importance of football fades - not completely - but we need to have some perspective on the real issues.

"But yes, if we look solely at football, it will create problems that we have never experienced in the country before."
