Watford boss Pearson hints at Sarr start against Liverpool

Watford star Ismaila Sarr is getting close to his first start since recovering from injury.

The Hornets attacker was on the bench against Manchester United, but may get the nod to start against Liverpool.

Watford would not have much hope of getting anything against the runaway league leaders, but they are hoping to have several first team players return to the team.

Among those players are Tom Cleverely, Nathaniel Chalobah, Will Hughes and Kiko Femenia.

When asked about Sarr, manager Nigel Pearson told reporters: "Much closer [to a return]. The squad's had a good week."

He went on to say the following about Nathaniel Chalobah: "Yeah, he's done well when he's been in the side.

"As has Will Hughes.

"If you remember, Chalobah took over from Will Hughes who was doing very very, well until he got injured, so we've got competition for places. [Tom] Cleverley's back involved as well, so it's nice to have healthy competition."
