Watford boss Javi Gracia says the squad's high spirits have been key to their successful season start.

Gracia has been named the Premier League's Manager of the Month for August.

“We are enjoying our work," said Gracia. “After four games we are doing well but you must always be prepared to adapt.

“We had a good time in pre-season to get to know each other and work together. We were ready by the first game to take care of all the details that are important.

“The players have worked on the details both on and off the pitch to get some advantages.

“They know what they are doing and they are very motivated. I have a very good group of players because the whole squad is strong and they showed that in the Carabao Cup."
