Watford manager Javi Gracia is full of praise for his fantastic central defender Adrian Mariappa.

The Hornets picked up an impressive 3-0 win, with the defenders putting on a great show for the side.

While keeper Ben Foster may have gotten a lot of praise from pundits, Gracia was quick to point out Mariappa's excellence after the game.

The Hornets boss said to the Watford Observer: "He's one of the captains, he's always an example for the rest of the players and he's always ready.

"You can tell him 'you are going to play right-back, you are going to play centre back, you are going to be play left-back' and he's always ready and always with a smile on his face.

"He's always trying to do his best and trying to help everybody and for me it's a pleasure to have players like Mariappa."
