WATCH: Liverpool legend Gerrard backs fearful England to recover form Euro2016 disaster

Steven Gerrard is backing the England national team to learn from the Euro2016 failure.

The Three Lions were unceremoniously dumped in the Round of 16 phase of the tournament by minnows Iceland in what was one of the country's most embarrassing football defeats.

With the hunt for a new manager to replace Roy Hodgson well and truly under way, former Liverpool and England star Gerrard is backing things to change for the better while indicting that the playing group will be determined to put things right following a subpar showing in France.

“I think there's a huge fear in amongst the group at the moment," the LA Galaxy star told virtual reality company Laduma.

“The expectations are very, very high.

“It's a very pressured situation to be an England player. The media coverage is huge, the expectation is huge.

“There's a very young set of players there who are not used to that pressure but they will be used to it in years to come.

“This experience and this hurt, I think, will help all of those players moving forward because they won't want to experience it again."
