WATCH: Gerrard replaces Keane to score quality goal in LA Galaxy win

Steven Gerrard helped LA Galaxy to a 4-2 Major League Soccer victory over New England Revolution on Sunday.

The former Liverpool star entered the fray at the Stubhub Center in the 60th minute, replacing captain Robbie Keane, who had earlier scored a brace either side of Giovani dos Santos' 24th-minute stunner to have the home side 3-0 ahead.

The Revs fought back with goals from Kelyn Rowe and Juan Agudelo to make it 3-2 before Gerrard came up with a late effort to send the Galaxy to second place in the Western Conference.

Regarding his entrance after an hour, Gerrard simply admitted the midweek clash with Philadelphia Union was in the back of head coach Bruce Arena's mind.

“Physically I am fine. I probably could have played a bit longer but Bruce obviously thinking further down the line," Gerrard said.

“We have a game coming up in 72 hours, so I think it was sensible to just play 30 today and be available to more minutes come Wednesday."

The goal, which you can see below courtesy of the Galaxy's official YouTube channel, was Gerrard's second in the league this season.
