Former Manchester United and Everton attacker Marouane Fellaini struck on debut for Shandong Leuneng.
He scored the only goal of the game as Shandong Luneng beat Beijing Rinhe in their season opener.
After a goalless first half, a scuffed shot landed at the feet of Fellaini five minutes into the second period and the ex-Everton man swivelled to fire home from close range.
It proved a crucial intervention and sealed all three points and a winning start to the campaign for the Belgian's new side.
