Frank Lampard has created history by becoming the first New York City FC player to score a MLS hat-trick.

Lampard has been in inspired form for New York City this season and the 38-year-old continued his brilliant run by scoring a fine hat-trick in the 5-1 thumping of Colorado Rapids on the weekend.

The feat means that Lampard becomes the first ever player to notch a treble of goals for NYCFC, taking his season tally to eight goals in 11 outings.
