Ward has no regrets leaving Liverpool for Leicester

Danny Ward has no regrets leaving Liverpool to be Kasper Schmeichel's backup at Leicester City.

At Liverpool, substitute goalkeeper Adrian has made a total of 18 appearances this campaign, including 11 in the Premier League and three in the Champions League, because of injuries or suspension to first-choice stopper Alisson.

“I've got no qualms about being second-choice to Kasper because he's been at an amazing level for many years at this club," said Ward.

“As a footballer, you obviously want to play but that's more difficult when you're a goalkeeper, because there's only one position available on the pitch.

“All you can do is stay upbeat, train really hard and wait for your opportunity. Anything can happen in football, as we saw earlier in the season when Alisson got injured at Liverpool and Adrian suddenly had a run of 10 games in the team.

“In this position it can be tough mentally but you've got to keep your chin up, work hard in training and see what happens."
