Walters fighting for Stoke stay

Jon Walters isn't giving up on his career with Stoke City.

The Republic of Ireland striker knows he could have to move on in January if he doesn't get more game time.

Walters said: "All I can do is stake my claim and hopefully put my name forward to start..

"There have been a lot of players that come and go. It's no different from any other year and I'm sure it will be no different come January or the summer..

"It's no good playing bits here and there and I'd love more game time. Hopefully that will come. We'll see over the next few weeks and months..

"If I'm not playing it's a no brainer, you're not in the manager's plans. But coming on and scoring against Swansea means, hopefully I've put my name forward to play a bigger part."
