Wallace netted a late equaliser to earn a point.
"It was a super point for us," the Scot told Sky Sports. "We're down to the bare bones with a few injuries to players as well, but the boys stepped in and put in a magnificent job for the team.
"I like to take free-kicks. I practice them and nine times out of 10 they go over the bar but luckily for me this one flew in the net and I'm buzzing.
"There's been a real belief from the start of the season. We don't listen to stuff going on outside the team because people are going to write us off, especially after a bad performance against West Brom.
"The boys were really down after that, but we showed some spirit today, battered it off and dug in."
