Wagner back at Huddersfield yesterday for emotional farewell

David Wagner was back at Huddersfield Town yesterday to say his farewells to staff and players.

The Daily Mail says Wagner said an emotional farewell to Huddersfield on Tuesday after returning to the club's training ground.

The German gave a speech to the squad then went round the entire staff to say goodbye.

Wagner, who joined the club in November 2015, said in a statement: "I'm sad to be leaving, but I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved".

Mark Hudson will step up from his role coaching the Under-23 side to take charge of the first-team against Manchester City on Sunday, and chairman Dean Hoyle will appoint Wagner's successor in the period afterwards with Huddersfield out of the FA Cup.
