West Ham United striker Andy Carroll's wage demands are too rich for Newcastle United to consider re-signing the Geordie.
The Mail on Sunday says it has been reported that Newcastle are lining up a bid to take back the striker they sold to Liverpool three years ago for £35m for a fee less than £10m.
But the problem the Hammers will have is Carroll's injury record - he is still on the sidelines - and the size of his wages.
Carroll is currently West Ham's top earner on £85,000 a week.
