Former Germany coach Berti Vogts has questioned Bayern Munich's swoop for Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho has joined Bayern on an initial 12 month loan from Barcelona. But Vogts believes the midfielder is already past his best.
He told T-Online: "At first glance, the loan from Coutinho is a fantastic acquisition for the Bundesliga.
"But I want to ask a question: Why does a 27-year-old leave a world club like FC Barcelona? Since he has given up hope of winning there?
"He may not be a world star, but a player who would probably be a substitute for FC Barcelona during the new season."
