Vizzari nets twice as North East Diamonds take U20 title

Pint-size striker Pasquale Vizzari scored twice as North East Diamonds took out the 2010/11 Victorian Champions League U20 title on Wednesday night.

The Diamonds saluted 3-0 over the Western Wolves at AAMI Park which was a precursor to the Melbourne Heart v Gold Coast UnitedA-League fixture.

Vizzari scored an opportunistic goal in the 52nd minute, nipping in to knock it over the line after the Wolves defence failed to clear properly.

The scoreline remained 1-0 until Vizzari added a second eight minutes from time when he received a through ball before advancing into the area and though his first effort was saved by Wolves keeper Kukic, Vizzari followed up to lost home.

A third was added when substitute winger Anthony Ramzy fired home in injury time to wrap up the Grand Final for the Diamonds.

It was a great celebration for Vizzari who recently signed a deal with Victorian Premier League outfit Green Gully who are coached by former Carlton SC and Melbourne Knights champion Lubo Lapsansky.
