Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Martin Odegaard could put himself in the shop window tonight against Ajax.

The on-loan Real Madrid midfielder is being linked with Ajax as a replacement for the Barcelona bound Frenkie de Jong.

"We can beat any club in this competition," assured Ödegaard in conversation with NOS. "We have proved against PSV that we can compete with the best teams.

"So we hope for a good result."

Of his future, the Norway international added: "There are always many rumours in football.

"Now I focus on Vitesse.

“My agent is already in contact with Real Madrid to discuss some matters. We'll look at what is best for my development and then we decide."
