Vitesse Arnhem fullback Alexander Buttner has spoken of his time at Manchester United.

The Dutchman moved to United in 2012.

"When my agent called me, I thought he was joking. But one day later I was on the plane. It was like a movie," he told Omroep Gelderland.

"Suddenly I was in the dressing room with Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Robin van Persie. I was immediately included in the group, they were all very normal people."

Buttner continued: "A boy's dream came true and I was allowed to play even more than I had thought before as a Vitesse boy. About fifty matches. A very nice time.

"It is too early to say that I am proud. I am still in the middle of my career and plan to play football for years to come."
