Vitesse Arnhem fullback Max Clark: Fun knowing Liverpool watching

Vitesse Arnhem fullback Max Clark admits he's flattered knowing Liverpool are watching him.

Clark, 23, was previously at Hull, vying for the left-back spot with now-Liverpool star Andy Robertson , before leaving in 2018.

He has attracted attention from the league leaders due to his outstanding statistics, which are among the best in Europe.

"Friends sent it (reports linking him with Liverpool) to me, but I can tell you it is just rumours," Clark told Omroep Gelderland. "In football everyone is confronted with rumours, you have to deal with that.

“It's nice to be linked to them. I think everyone would be happy with these teams. It's great, but it's rumours.

"I don't want to play there either, because I want to go into Europe with Vitesse. So I don't do anything with it.

"It's fun for my family and friends, but I'll let them enjoy it. But I leave it behind, because I want to stay here."

Liverpool are keen on adding cover for Robertson, and could make a move for Clark in January or the summer.
