Visa makes substantial investment in US women's football

The United States Soccer Federation (US Soccer) has sealed a five-year partnership with financial services giant Visa as part of a substantial investment in the future of women's soccer in the States, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

As part of the deal, Visa will partner with both the US women's and men's national teams, with the terms of the contract stating that at least 50 per cent of the company's investment will go towards the women's team and women's grassroots initiatives.

Visa will also become the presenting sponsor of the SheBelieves Cup, the annual four-team international tournament held in the US.

Lynne Biggar, Visa's chief marketing and communications officer, said: "By making a substantial investment in women's initiatives, including soccer, Visa is celebrating this powerful global force."
