Aston Villa fullback Luke Young says he's ready to resume his playing career.
After coming to terms with a family bereavement, Young insists he is now fit, raring to go and desperate for that matchday buzz on a regular basis.
He told AVTV: "I came back in pre-season looking forward to the new campaign. I felt I could improve on my performances of the previous season. I had the bit between my teeth - a real determination to succeed.
"I then picked up niggling thigh injuries that I couldn't get rid of and then obviously the family bereavement which was difficult to get over.
"But I am ready to concentrate on football now and I'm looking forward to playing.
"In the first few weeks after what happened I didn't really want to do anything. It was really tough early on.
"Then you come in and train hard and get a sweat on and you can get stuck in and it gives you something else to think about. I have been back training for a while now and training really, really hard.
"But I couldn't get straight back into the team because the lads were doing so well and rightfully there was no room at the inn for me."
