Aston Villa defender Gary Cahill is enjoying his time on-loan at Sheffield United.

"I've really enjoyed myself, I'm back home with friends and family and I settled in well with the lads," said Cahill.

"The team spirit here is fantastic, it's a great environment to be around and I've played regularly for a good team. I'll miss it and we'll see what happens in the future.

"It is hard for me to say anything because (Aston Villa manager) Martin O'Neill holds all the cards. He's approachable, I've been to see him five or six times and I'll do it again.

"I'll have a word with him (O'Neill) when I get back and see how things go from there."
