Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma has explained why he asked for Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt when the Red Devils beat the Spanish club in the Champions League in September.
The two sides go head to head in Spain on Tuesday, with United now guided by temporary boss Michael Carrick.
Danjuma, who spent time in the Premier League with Bournemouth, is not shy about admitting his admiration for Ronaldo.
He said: "I know where I stand in football.
"I have a self-awareness that does not come from pride or arrogance.
"So if Ronaldo scores 10 goals in the Champions League then I might get five. But someone from a pub team would be lucky to get one.
"For many players pride is often a thing that stops them asking for their opponent's shirt. It sometimes gets in the way.
"But not with me. When the last whistle sounded (at Old Trafford), with me it was straight to Ronaldo!"
