Relegated Villarreal have snapped up veteran striker Walter Pandiani.

Pandiani has already passed his medical and put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Yellow Submarine and will be presented on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old former Uruguay international has played for a host of teams during his career, including Deportivo La Coruna, Real Mallorca, Espanyol and Osasuna in Spain, Birmingham in England and Penarol in his homeland.
