Villarreal are set to sign Napoli defender Raul Albiol.

Marca says Albiol is to move to Villarreal after they met the player's €4m release clause.

The 33-year-old will return to LaLiga Santander where he had previously featured for teams such as Valencia and Real Madrid.

The Partenopei signed Albiol from Los Blancos back in the summer of 2013 in exchange for 12 million euros.

Villarreal attempted to lure the player back to Spain last season but the transfer ultimately fell through.
