Villarreal have joined the race for Real Betis right-back Emerson Royal.
The 22-year-old has caught the eye of many admirers with a fine campaign in Andalusia.
Arsenal are believed to be eyeing the Brazilian as a replacement for Hector Bellerin, who has been linked with PSG and Barcelona.
But they will face a challenge from their former manager Unai Emery.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Emery wants to sign Emerson for Villarreal and will look to offer Betis around €22million this summer.
However, any potential move will depend on whether Villarreal can topple Manchester United in the Europa League final on May 26.
Emery's side reached the showcase event by beating Arsenal in the semi-finals.
Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be interested in signing Emerson this summer.
