Villarreal defender Pau Torres is on the radar of Manchester City.
The Telegraph says City see Torres as a long-term target, with no immediate plans to buy the youngster in January.
But the Spain international is on the radar and has impressed City manager Pep Guardiola over the past 12-18 months.
Torres signed a new deal with Villarreal just months ago, which carries an initial €50m buyout clause that can rise to €70m if certain conditions are met.
Other options being considered are Nathan Ake (Chelsea) and Ruben Dias (Benfica).
