Villarreal are closing on a deal for Napoli defender Raul Albiol.

CalcioNapoli24 reports there is 'total agreement' between Albiol and Villarreal.

The Yellow Submarine will pay his release clause before the June 30 deadline.

A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday between Napoli and the defender's agents, where the club will be informed of negotiations with the Yellow Submarine and their intent to buy out his Partenopei contract.

The 32-year-old joined the southerners from Real Madrid in 2013 and has gone on to make 210 appearances at the San Paolo, winning a Coppa Italia in his first season.
