Aston Villa striker Samir Carruthers was thrilled to see action in defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

Carruthers impressed greatly during his 15-minute spell at Old Trafford.

He told Villa's website: "It was a great experience for me. It is a real honour to be playing Premier League football, full-stop. That's what every kid dreams of.

"I'm getting my chance now to do it and doing my best. I'm doing my utmost to impress and show what I can do and help the team.

"To be pitting my wits for Villa at places like Anfield and Old Trafford is just a dream come true. I've just got to keep going now."
